Abbey Gardens
There are three distinctly different gardens at Easby Hall: the serene Abbey Garden, the south facing Walled Garden and the organic Vegetable Garden. These are flanked by a short woodland walk, an orchard and a breezy paddock at the top.
The Abbey Garden is so-called because of its magnificent aspect above the ancient ruins of Easby Abbey. Its sweeping 'infinity' lawn is separated from the fields below by a ha-ha. There are two garden rooms bordering this lawn; the Summer Rotunda, perched on a terrace surrounded by giant grasses and the Winter House, an open-fronted stone room with a log fire and dining and reclining seating. This delightful garden house features in ITV's April 2012 series of 'The Great British Taste Tour'.
These garden rooms are available for visitors by arrangement. Bed and Breakfast guests are welcome to stroll the grounds and enjoy the outside fire on colder days or sunsets over the abbey ruins before heading out for dinner.
